The project offers numerous educational benefits for students, with opportunity for it to be incorporated into class projects for years to come. The entire product pipeline can be learned using the tartan. Market survey work has been done and will continue to be done to determine consumer interest and product preference; annually students in apparel, retail merchandising and design and interior design classes design goods to be considered for production and ultimately students will be doing the legwork needed to find manufactures for products. Students will also have opportunity to work as middlemen to located retailers in the region to carry the products. The students in the Hospitality and Tourism major develop events with which to help promote the tartan products. Further research will be done to fine tune the entire process to ensure it continues to be effective.
