Join Our Largest Event of the Year

Discover NDSU brings high school students to campus to help you understand the programs and resources that NDSU offers. You will participate in an admission presentation to better understand the admission process, ask questions of a current student panel, and get a better understanding of your specific academic interests.

Optional specialty tours are also offered for facilities in the following areas:

  • Residence Life
  • Engineering
  • College of Business
  • Architecture
  • Landscape Architecture

Space is limited, so please register early. While we have many different resources and departments available, we are unable to accommodate individual requests due to the size of the group.

At Junior Day, we help high school juniors starting the college search process and offer an introduction about how to prepare for college.

Registration will open mid August.

Senior Day

With Senior Day, we provide high school seniors with an overview of campus and the next steps toward becoming an NDSU student in the fall.

Registration will open mid August.

The Fall 2018 dates are October 18 and 19. Registration will open mid August.

We want your visit to work best for your schedule, so we offer both morning and afternoon sessions during Discover NDSU.

Morning Sessions

Morning sessions start at 8 a.m. and are completed by 12:15 p.m. Optional specialty tours begin at 12:15 p.m.

What happens if there is severe weather on the day of my visit?

If classes are canceled and the university is closed, the program will be canceled as well. You’ll receive a cancellation notification as soon as possible. 

What should I wear?

Dress casually for your visit to campus. Comfortable shoes for the tour are recommended, and since most of the tour is outdoors, a jacket and umbrella will be helpful in case of rain. Check out today’s weather to help you dress appropriately.

What will I see on the tour?

A student-led walking tour of campus includes our state-of-the-art classroom facilities, a residence hall, a dining center, the wellness center, the library, and more.

May I bring a guest?

Absolutely! Parents, guardians, and other guests are always welcome on campus. When you register for your visit, please indicate how many guests will accompany you.

I am visiting with a friend, and we want to go on tour together. Do we need to register separately?

Yes, each student who is visiting should make their own reservation. We will do our best to put you on the same tour.

What if the number in my party has changed since I signed up for my tour?

If you know in advance that you are bringing more or fewer people than you initially indicated, please contact the Office of Admission at 701.231.8643 or ndsu.visit@ndsu.edu.

Driving Directions

Here are directions to the FargoDome parking lot, where you’ll begin your visit.

From the East via I-94

* Follow Interstate 94 westbound to the Interstate 29 interchange.
* Exit northbound on Interstate 29 (Exit 349).
* Follow Interstate 29 to the 19th Avenue exit (Exit 67).
* Turn right. Follow 19th Avenue east past the airport, NDSU's 18th Street entrance, and the FargoDome to University Drive.
* Turn right onto University Drive.
* Proceed one-half block and turn right into FargoDome Lot C.
* Admission staff will be there to greet you and direct you to your shuttle.

From the East via Highway 10

* Follow Highway 10 into Moorhead as it becomes Center Avenue.
* Follow Center Avenue across the Red River into Fargo.
* At 2nd Street in Fargo, turn right, heading north.
* At 1st Avenue, turn left.
* Follow 1st Avenue to 10th Street North (a one-way street).
* Turn right onto 10th Street and proceed to 19th Avenue North.
* Turn left at the stoplight onto 19th Avenue North.
* Turn left at the stoplight onto University Drive.
* Proceed one-half block and turn right into FargoDome Lot C.
* Admission staff will be there to greet you and direct you to your shuttle.

From the West
