If you have questions regarding how to send a sample for seed health testing, please contact the NDSU Plant Diagnostic Lab

The North Dakota State Seed Department (NDSSD) performs seed quality testing (such as germ and purity) and seed health testing. NDSSD is a separate entity. For more information on NDSSD and the services it offers, click here.

Disclaimer: Seed health and phytosanitary testing by the NDSU Plant Diagnostic Lab is completely self-supportive. The Lab is intended as a service to the seed and grain industries in an effort to bring the latest testing technology to the grower.

The NDSU Plant Diagnostic Lab cannot be responsible for the accuracy or uniformity of samples. Those who submit samples should strive to provide representative samples. Since disease losses in the field are also determined by conducive environments and additional factors, a low disease rating or an organism that is not detected in a submitted sample is not a guarantee that losses will not occur.
