Why did you choose NDSU?
I chose NDSU because it is a big school with many opportunities, yet still has the small-town community feel. NDSU does a great job keeping connections between global industries and local companies which is very important to me.

Why did you select the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources?
I grew up with an agriculture background. When it came time to decide what I wanted to do, I knew CAFSNR was the place I wanted to go. CAFSNR does a great job preparing students to pursue their passions in a great industry.

Scholarships you have received and why scholarships are important to you:
I have received the Leonard Wulf Memorial Scholarship and the Institute for Feed Education and Research Scholarship. Scholarships are important to me because they help relieve some of the financial stress of paying for college.

Clubs/organizations you’re involved in and why involvement in activities is beneficial:
I am currently a member of Sigma Alpha, Saddle and Sirloin, and Ag Ambassadors. Getting involved on campus is important because it truly makes or breaks your college experience. Clubs and organizations provide an opportunity to meet people within your industry that have similar interests. I have met some of my best friends through various organizations and I have created memories that will last a lifetime.

List any internships and a brief description of what you did:
This past summer I had the opportunity to work at Wienk Charolais where I was able to see livestock production firsthand. I also helped with artificial insemination, semen testing, calf vaccinations and weekly pasture checks.

What is your greatest memory at NDSU?
My greatest memory so far at NDSU is meeting all my lifelong friends and winning top novice for swine at the 95th Little International.

What are your future plans?
After graduation I plan to remain in the livestock industry. Although I have not quite decided a career path, I am passionate about beef cattle and very interested in reproduction. With that being said, I hope to find a career path that lets me have the best of both worlds.
