Fit & Strong Instructor Training

Fit & Strong is an evidence-based physical activity program developed by researchers at the University of Illinois. This 8 or 12 week program that targets older adults with osteoarthritis and has demonstrated significant functional and physical activity improvements in this population. If you’re interested in joining the network of North Dakota Fit & Strong Instructors, consider attending an instructor training.

Fit & Strong instructors say they get a great deal of satisfaction from being able to help older adults become more active by strength training, flexibility exercises and health education to aid with osteoarthritis and stiffness.

Training Dates & Location:

Registration & Cost:

There is no cost for the two-day training. Reimbursement is available for mileage, lodging and meals. Instructors are provided extensive support in delivering this highly effective workshop for adults with osteoarthritis.

Support is available from NDSU Extension Fit & Strong Master Trainers across North Dakota.

Individuals interested in becoming instructors must identify their sponsoring organization and submit a completed application by November 11, 2022 to NDSU Extension.

Lodging will be reimbursed to the attendees at the state rate of $ 86.40+tax/night .
