Dean's Welcome

Careers in the 21st Century

On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students in the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, thank you for visiting our page.

Through hands-on learning, we prepare our students for meaningful careers that make a difference in the world. Our graduates design buildings, engage in creative expression, investigate social issues, and give voice to communities. They have the technical expertise, understanding of human behavior, and contextual knowledge required for solving today’s most challenging problems.

Our graduates also have the people skills in high demand by employers, making us one of the best values for undergraduate and graduate education in the region.  Please take the time to look into our departments andschedule a campus visit.

Because there are so many career options available to our graduates, we focus on helping our students find and navigate their professional paths. This help includes selecting a major that aligns with your interests, pursuing a minor that complements your major, and mapping out exactly how long it will take to complete your degree.

As you plan the beginning of your academic career or transfer to NDSU, we encourage you to reach out. We are available via email (Carrie Anne Platt or Stephenson Beck) or by phone (701-231-8338), and happy to connect you with others in our college or on the campus.

We love talking with current, former, and future students. We look forward to connecting with you.

Carrie Anne Platt and Stephenson Beck, Interim Deans
College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
