College of AHSS Award Winners

 

Dr. Bruce Maylath, Professor of English, was awarded the 2017 NDSU Faculty Lectureship Award. 

Dr. Carrie Ann Platt, Associate Professor of Communication, was awarded the 2017 NDSU Student Success Collaborative Award.

Dr. Michael Strand, Department Head and Professor of Visual Arts, was awarded the 2017 NDSU Phi Kappa Faculty Lectureship Award.

Dr. Emily D. Wicktor, Assistant Professor of English, was awarded the 2017 NDSU Odney Award for Excellence in Teaching Award. 


Dr. Charles Okigbo, Professor of Communication, was named the 2016 Outstanding Educator for Art, Humanities and Social Sciences at the annual Honors Day reception on September 30, 2016.

Dr. Ann Burnett, Professor of Communication and Director of Women and Gender Studies, was awarded the Faculty Lectureship Award for 2016.  The Faculty Lectureship, one of the oldest and most prestigious of the University‚Äôs awards, recognizes sustained professional excellence in teaching, scholarly achievement, and service among current faculty at NDSU. The Faculty Lectureship is conferred on an individual who has demonstrated excellence in all three areas.

Dr. Carrie Ann Platt, Associate Professor of Communication and AHSS Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education, received the AHSS Outstanding Teaching Award for 2016.

Dr. Dennis Cooley, Professor of Philosophy, received the AHSS Outstanding Service Award for 2016.

Dr. Virginia Sublett, Professor of Voice and Opera, received the AHSS Outstanding Creative Activity Award for 2016.

Adam Goldwyn, Assistant Professor of English, received the AHSS Outstanding Research Award for 2016.

Renee Bourdeaux, received the AHSS Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award for 2016.  Renee is a Ph.D. student in Communication.

Justin Motto received the AHSS Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award for 2016.  Justin is a Ph.D. student in Communication.

 

Dr. Gary Goreham, Professor of Sociology and Anthropology, received the 2015 NDSU Faculty Service-Learning Award.  Dr. Goreham is pictured with NDSU President Dean Bresciani.












Dr. Kevin Brooks, Professor of English,  received the 2015 Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Faculty Service Award.  Dr. Brooks is pictured with NDSU President, Dean Bresciani.











Dr. Carol Archbold, Professor of Criminal Justice, was the recipient of the 2015 Walter F. and Verna Gerhts Endowed Professor Award. 













Dr. Stephenson Beck, Associate Professor of Communication, was named the 2015 Outstanding Educator for Art, Humanities and Social Sciences at the annual Honors Day reception on October 9, 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nancy DiTunnariello won the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award for 2015.  DiTunnariello is a PhD student in the Department of Communication. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whitney Anderson received the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award for 2015.  Anderson is a PhD student in Communication.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Dr. Christina Weber won the Outstanding Service Award for 2015.  Weber is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and Associate Dean of Faculty Development in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.






 

 

 

 


Dr. Kjersten Nelson, Associate Professor of Political Science, received the Outstanding Teaching Award for 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
Dr. Bradley Benton earned the Outstanding Research Award for 2015. Benton is an Assistant Professor of History.
