NDSU Women's History Month Event

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 6pm-7:30pm, NDSU's WGS program and History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies Department will host a Women's History Month event. The program is virtual and free to the public. This year, the theme is "Refusing to Be Silent" and the continued struggle after the 19th Amendment for a political voice. "Remembering the 1977 National Women's Conference" is a discussion with three women who served as delegates at the first and only government-funded conference on gender equality. Dr. Tin Myaing Thein, Dr. Cindy Phillips, and Bonnie Wallace represent diverse groups of women who participated in the conference from Hawaii, North Dakota, and Minnesota respectively. They will discuss their experiences in creating a comprehensive National Plan of Action that aimed at addressing all barriers to equality that diverse groups of women experience as well as the conference's impact on the Women's Movement and their lifelong activism.

The event will be live-streamed through YouTube. Please see the WGS homepage https://www.ndsu.edu/wgs  for the link.
