NDSU’s Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology has been recognized by as a “Top University for Professional Sales Education” program in the Sales Education Foundation’s 2017 ANNUAL magazine. The recognition, which comes for the fourth year in a row, acknowledges NDSU for preparing students for successful careers in professional selling and helping to elevate the sales profession.

The 10th edition of ANNUAL magazine will be available by the end of April.

Professional sales or selling is one of the most common jobs for students graduating with a sales degree. Recent research suggests 60 percent of business majors and 88 percent of marketing majors begin their professional careers in a sales-related role.

“Our graduates are being prepared with one of the most highly sought skill sets in the marketplace,” said Mike Krush, director of the Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology.

Sally Stevens, executive director of the Sales Education Foundation, said companies should have an increased focus on partnering with university sales programs and hiring their graduates. In her Letter from the Editor in the ANNUAL magazine, she wrote, “Candidates from these (sales) programs are more prepared to align with their initial sales roles and to compete in the ever-changing global economy.”

The foundation’s continuing recognition for the Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology is a source of pride for people at the center. “This is a program with a solid foundation and a tremendous amount of potential,” said Krush.
