Business Connections

MENTORING PROGRAM

2017 application deadline has passed

College of Business students can build relationships with business professionals in Fargo thanks to Business Connections

Business Connections is open to any College of Business student, but is specifically targeted at freshmen, sophomore or junior students.

Students appy to be paired with professionals for a semester to learn about careers, industries and day-to-day job responsibilities. It’s the kind of program that helps NDSU students successfully compete in the workforce. By meeting with professionals, students are able to use and expand their knowledge from the classroom as they plan their careers. Students initiate contact with their professionals and set the agenda for meetings. They meet at local coffee shops or at their mentors’ offices. They job shadow, ask questions and meet other members of the organizations.

Two training sessions are required for participation in Business Connections. The first training will go over some logistics of the program, the importance of personal skills and formality, as well as taking a photo headshot for a LinkedIn account. The second training session will help students create and enhance a LinkedIn profile.
