Everyone is always looking for that extra edge when it comes to building and demonstrating their professional and leadership skills. What better way to do so than to get involved with an organization that can complement your academic experience and give you an edge in your future career? During a job interview, you can point to the leadership positions you held for the largest collegiate business student organization in the world.

FBLA-PBL is an American career and technical student organization with the purpose of bringing business and education together in a positive working relationship. It is the largest student-run organization in the United States, one of the largest business-related organizations in the world, and one of the top 10 organizations listed by the U.S. Department of Education. PBL gives college students the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through community service projects, fundraising activities, and chapter office positions. Members also have the opportunity to attend state and national leadership conferences in which they can compete in the over 55 academic competitions that cover technology, public speaking, business, finance, management, and much more.

PBL also offers members benefits that include:

  • discounts
  • publications
  • awards and recognition programs

Employers recognize the responsibilities that student leaders take on, and they respect the initiative it shows to head a college organization. With leadership experience on your resume, you’re more likely to get the attention of a hiring manager. These leadership roles can be a great conversation starter or even a way to connect with a hiring manager on a more personal level.

PBL welcomes all majors, both within and outside the College of Business, and hosts meetings with a variety of business professionals to help students grow both personally and academically.
