Welcome to the NDSU Action and Cognition Lab.
Research in the Action and Cognition Lab investigates the ways in which actions influence thoughts. We incorporate approaches from both vision science and embodied cognition to study the ways in which physical actions-from tiny movements of the eyes to shifts of the entire body-affect key components of cognition such as problem solving, memory, and attention. By examining when and why actions interact with thoughts, our goal is to enhance understanding of the underlying mechanisms and representations that tie cognition and action together.
