CIRE Immunization Research Project Manager
Carolyn Linster, OD, is the Immunization Research Project Manager at NDSU Center for Immunization Research and Education (CIRE). Carolyn’s role includes researching and addressing barriers to vaccination throughout North Dakota. With a background in optometry, Carolyn brings a unique perspective to vaccine confidence. She has a proven commitment to public health at both the state and local level, having worked for the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) Division of Disease Control and the First District Health Unit in Minot. Before joining the team at CIRE, Carolyn worked for the NDDoH as the COVID-19 Case Manager for the North Central region, where she managed COVID-19 database information.
Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Science in microbiology in 2007 from NDSU and her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, in 2011. Carolyn has practiced optometry in Minot, ND, since 2011, and has been active in public health since 2017. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys staying active and camping, biking, and hiking with her husband, Tom, and their three daughters, Paige, Kenna, and Maren.
