Ryan M. Yonk, Ph.D.
Undergraduate Program Director
Ryan Yonk is the Undergraduate Program Director for the NDSU Center for the Study of Public Choice and Private Enterprise (PCPE) and a lecturer of economics in the NDSU Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics. He oversees all undergraduate student programs, including the Mancur Olson Scholars reading group and Mancur Olson Fellows. He is the author of five books: Green V. Green, Direct Democracy in the United States, Nature Unbound: Bureaucracy vs. the, Reality of American Energy, Reality of American Energy, and Politics and Quality of Life: The Role of Well-Being in Political Outcomes. At the core, his research explores how policy can be better crafted to achieve greater individual autonomy and prosperity. He has published numerous academic articles and policy reports focused on the intersection of public policy, economics, and politics, including in the journals of Public Choice, The Independent Review, Applied Research in Quality of Life, and the Journal of Range Management.
Ryan was previously an assistant research professor of economics at Utah State University and research and administrative director of the Institute of Political Economy.
