Appointments for Distance Education Students

Out-of-area students may request telephone consultations by following these steps:

1. Call the Undergraduate Center for Writers at 701-231-7927 and specifically request a telephone consultation.

2. After the appointment is scheduled, you will be contacted by email to verify the time and date.

3. You will also be asked to send an email to the Center for Writers (ndsu.cfw@ndsu.edu) at least 2 hours before your appointment. Please include this information:

  • a draft of your paper as an MSWord attachment
  • the assignment guidelines and other relevant information about the instructor's expectations
  • the issues and concerns you would like to discuss during the consultation

4.  At the appointed time, please wait 15 minutes to allow the consultant to read your document.

5.  After 15 minutes, call 701-231-7927 (CFW consultants do not initiate the calls). Please be ready to give your student ID number for our records. Also, please understand that the consultant will discuss your paper with you and offer suggestions--not revise the paper for you.
