  • Erich L. Knapp, MM ’10 choral conducting, had a scholarship established at Blinn College in his honor by the music department of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas. He has served as director of music ministry and artist-in-residence of the 1,500-member church for the past six years. He plays organ and leads five performing groups, including the 12-voice Choral Scholars, a paid and auditioned choir of music students from Blinn College.  
  • Emily Carrow, BS ’16 management communication, was promoted to solution specialists supervisor at Discovery Benefits, Fargo.
  • Eva Sebesta, MS ’10 natural resources management, was named executive director of the Ely, Minnesota, Chamber of Commerce. She had served as interim director for three months, and was selected from a field of 19 applicants.
  • James R, Mickelson, BS ’13 civil engineering, earned his professional engineer license. He focuses on transportation services at the Fargo office of Apex Engineering Group.
  • James Kallod, BS ’13 political science, was promoted to senior benefits implementation manager at Discovery Benefits, Fargo.
  • Maggie Moen, BS ’15 public relations and advertising, joined Sundog Interactive as an associate project manager at the company’s Fargo headquarters.
  • Katie Boe, BS ’17 psychology, was promoted to assistant branch manager at Town and Country Credit Union’s West Fargo branch.
  • Annise Montplaisir, BS ’17 management communication and international studies, has been accepted into the prestigious Godolphin Flying Start management and leadership program that specializes in the international thoroughbred racing and breeding industry. The two-year program is similar to a master’s degree and the training takes place at locations in Ireland, United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Dubai.
  • Taylor Braun, BUS ’14 university studies, was selected by USA Basketball to play in FIBA World Cup Qualifying for a second time. In his first appearance on Team USA in February, the U.S. earned a pair of victories over Cuba and Puerto Rico. He played this past season with the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League and VL Pesaro in Italy’s Serie A.
  • Mitchell T. Erickson, BS ’15 accounting, was promoted to senior accountant at Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing in Willmar, Minnesota. He earned his certified public accountant certification in 2017.
