  • Daniel Mahli, BS ’96 political science, is the city of Moorhead’s new assistant city manager. He previously headed up the city of Fargo’s community development efforts.
  • Susan L. Carlson, BS ’90 mass communication, joined the North Dakota State College of Science Division for Workforce Affairs as a sales manager at its Fargo location.
  • Christopher Schenck, BS ’96 agricultural economics, joined American Federal Bank’s south Fargo sales office as the ag and business banker and vice president.
  • Susan Knutson, BS ’90 corporate and community fitness, joined MPX Fitness in Fargo as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor.
  • William C. Marcil Sr., honorary doctorate ’93 honorary alumnus ’97, received the Mike and Karen Hofer Deacon Award honors graduates, parents, staff and friends who have provided extensive service and contributions of time, talent or financial gifts to Fargo’s St. John Paul II Catholic Schools.
  • Kathy Diekman, BS ’91 zoology, is director of Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
  • Thomas Lothspeich, BS ’91 mechanical engineering, was appointed chief mechanical engineer at Stanley Consultants, Muscatine, Iowa. He has more than 25 years of experience in power plant design, project management and construction management. He has worked on some of the largest and most complex power generation projects in the company’s portfolio. He also is a senior project manager, the technology and innovation leader for the power market and as power generation mechanical group manager.
  • Jill DeVries, BS ’92 physical education, MEd ’97, secondary education, was named athletic director at Valley City State University. She is the longtime women’s basketball coach at the school.
  • Craig Askim, BS ’94 animal and range science, MEd ’16, agricultural education, received the Agriculture Awareness and Appreciation Award from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents  for his recent master's thesis on the importance of agriculture education and agricultural literacy across North Dakota and in his county. He is the agriculture and natural resources agent in Mercer County.
  • Todd Weinmann, BS ’95 pharmaceutical sciences, MS ’10, horticulture, was honored by the National Association of County Agricultural Agents in the Program Promotional Piece category for his leadership and collaboration with Fargo Cass Public Health in designing and planting a successful containerized community vegetable garden.
