  • John Carlson, BS ’82 business, was named to the board of directors of the Lawai Beach Resort, a time-share resort on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. He lives in Fargo.    
  • Glen Statler, 78 former faculty member, joined NDSU’s Department of Plant Pathology in 1969 and became department chair in 1988. He continued in the chair position until his retirement in 2004. His research was in host parasite genetics of wheat leaf rust and flax rust. He worked with plant breeders for varietal development, and was published extensively on host resistance and host-parasite interactions. He lived in Fargo.
  • Jenna Schneider, BS ’16 strategic communication, joined Bismarck Motor Co., Bismarck, North Dakota, as a marketing specialist. She previously interned with Kupper Automotive.
  • Vernon Wagner, 89, BS ’49 pharmacy, worked for the North Dakota Medical Association and retired as the executive director in 1994. Earlier in his career, he was the managing partner at Clinic Pharmacy until 1967. He was a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives for 20 years and was a staff member for Gov. Ed Schafer. He lived in Bismarck, North Dakota.
  • Scott Long, 50, BS ’89 business administration, was an information technology professional at Fiserv. He lived in Lincoln, Nebraska.
  • Roland Senechal, 83, BS ’60 agricultural mechanization, operated the family farm north of Drake, North Dakota. He was an active 4-H leader for more than 30 years. He lived in Drake. 
  • George Wieland, 78, MS ’82 educational administration, was a lifelong educator, teaching high school or serving as an administrator in New Town, Pillsbury, Buchanan, and Drake, North Dakota; Wooster, Ohio; Stephen, Minnesota; Los Angeles; and Kimball, South Dakota. He lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
  • Dennis F. Alme, 84, BS ’60 electrical and electronic engineering, was employed by General Electric Light Military in Utica, New York, and later by Sperry/Univac in the Twin Cities. An Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War, he lived in Stillwater, Minnesota.
  • George Strecker, 80, BS ’64 economics, worked for National Cash Register Corp. in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and later was Butler Machinery’s sales manager for western North Dakota. He lived in Fargo. 
  • Harley Swanson, 79, BS ’60, MS ’62 botany, worked in plant science research for the USDA until he retired in 2000. He lived in Fargo.
