  • Blair Thoreson, BS ’02 mass communication, joined the North Dakota State Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs team of Lockridge Grindal Nauen. He was a state representative from Fargo from 1998-2016 and spent 14 years employed in the telecommunications industry.
  • Heith Janke, BS ’99 sociology, was sworn in as police chief in West Fargo. He is a former supervisory agent who worked for the FBI in Kansas City; San Antonio, Texas; and Washington, D.C.
  • Rhiannon Dockter, 23, BS ’15 microbiology, worked at Sanford Health and danced for Let’s Dance Studio. She lived in Bismarck, North Dakota.
  • Boyd Nerdahl, 73, BS ’65 agricultural economics, was a farmer for more than 50 years, retiring in 2006. He lived in Sharon, North Dakota.
  • James Crane, 68, BS ’71, MS ’78 pharmacy, was a 20-year Navy veteran who retired in 1991 as the chief of pharmacy services at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. He then continued his career as a pharmacy manager in Seattle. He lived in Summerville, South Carolina. 
  • Terry Irgens, 70, BS ’69, MS ’75 pharmacy, was a retired captain in the U.S. Navy, serving nearly 27 years. He was Commanding Officer, Naval Medical Logistics Command at Fort Detrick. Maryland. After retirement from the military, he worked for Northrop Grumman, DynPort Vaccine Co. and the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine. He lived in Myersville, Maryland. 
  • Nancy (Nilles) McLaughlin, 89, BS ’49 apparel and textiles, was a member of the building committee for Nativity Church. She lived in Spokane, Washington.
  • Stephen Diesem, 70, BS’69 economics, had a 35-year career with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He was mayor of LaMoure, North Dakota, and also served on the LaMoure Park Board. He lived in Fort Ransom, North Dakota.
  • James Leet, 94, FS ’43 had a successful career with Pan American World Airways, Aer Lingus and Northeast Airlines. He later worked for the International Executive Service Organization. He was an NDSU Foundation life trustee. He lived in New Canaan, Connecticut.
  • Jean (Stroup) Leet, 93. BS ’44 English education, taught high school English in Elgin, North Dakota, and later raised three children in London, where her husband worked for Pan American World Airways. She lived in New Canaan, Connecticut.
