  • Karin (Wilhelmson) Stoner, BS ’90, electrical and electronic engineering, was named vice president for strategic development at WECTEC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Co. She previously was vice president for project management and integration. She is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. October 2016
  • Brian C. Berg, BArch ’91, architecture, was inducted into the Oak Grove Lutheran School Hall of Fame. He a founder of Zerr Berg Architects in Fargo. At Oak Grove, he played trumpet in the band and sang in choir. After graduation, he served in the North Dakota National Guard for 20 years. October 2016
  • Jeff Nygaard, BS ’90, mass communication, was named commissioner of the United States Prospects Hockey League. He served as executive director of the Eastern Hockey League for the past four years and is a former owner/operator of the Washington Junior Nationals in the Atlantic Junior Hockey League. He lives in Moseley, Virginia. September 2016
  • Steven P. Wagner, BS ’96, mass communication, was named the new Forum News Service director in Fargo. He previously was editor of the Grand Forks Herald. September 2016
  • Wendy Haaland, BS ’98, nursing, is a family medicine nurse practitioner who recently joined Sanford Health Northwest Clinic in Minot, North Dakota. September 2016
  • David Vicha, BS ’94, business administration, was named district sales manager for Hyundai Construction Equipment America. His district includes Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and parts of Louisiana and Missouri. September 2016
  • Amy (Vanderwouide) Elliott, MS ’96, psychology, was a contributing author of a study titled “Updated clinical guidelines for diagnosing fetal alcohol spectrum disorder,” which appears online in Pediatrics. She is director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Population Research at Sanford Research, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She also holds a professorial appointment in the Department of Pediatrics of the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. August 2016
  • Darrell Stolle, MEd ’95, counseling and guidance, was approved for tenure in Concordia College’s education department. August 2016
  • Michelle N. Larson, BS ’99, hotel motel restaurant management, was promoted to senior vice president-sales at Discovery Benefits, Fargo. She joined the company in 2007. August 2016
  • Pam Gibb, BS ’97, English education, ’98 mass communication, was named the North Dakota Professional Communicators 2016 communicator of achievement. She is the communications coordinator for Moorhead Public Schools, She will be the organization’s nominee for the communicator of achievement award at the National Federation of Press Women conference in September in Wichita, Kansas. August 2016
