  • Terry L. Phillips, BArch '90, architecture, was hired as a project manager at Lightowler Johnson Associates, Fargo.   April 2016
  • Eric Greiff, BS '97, civil engineering, was named a partner at Heyer Engineering, Fargo. He has been with the company for 17 years. April 2016
  • Shannon Lavin, BS '99, psychology, was promoted to insurance operations manager at Bremer Insurance, Fargo. April 2016
  • Jodi (Anderson) Melius, BS '93, leisure studies and recreation, and David Stordalen, BS '93, music education, are organizing a special 9/11 memorial event this fall in Rochester, Minnesota. They are bringing together the Minnesota Army National Guard Red Bull Division Band and the Rochester Symphony Chorale in a program that also will include speakers with civil service and military backgrounds. Melius is a member of the board of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Chorale and a singer in the Chorale, while Stordalen is the Red Bull Division Band director. The event is planned for the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium on Sept. 10, 2016. March 2016
  • Rebecca Lewis, BS '90, environmental design, BArch '90, architecture, was named to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession. She is a principal at DSGW Architects, Duluth, Minnesota. March 2016
  • Jared Nesje, BS '96, environmental design, BArch '96, architecture, was named CEO at TSP in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, effective Oct. 1. He is a principal and senior architect with the group, and previously guided TSP design teams as a project manager and discipline lead. He will be only the fifth CEO to lead the firm since it was founded in 1930. March 2016
  • Rebecca Lewis, BS '90, environmental design, BArch '90, architecture, was named to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. Lewis is a principal of DSGW Architects, Duluth, Minnesota. February 2016
  • Loren Yellow Bird, BS '99, sociology, was a technical adviser and linguistic consultant for the movie, “The Revenant,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The film won three Golden Globe Awards and received 12 Oscar nominations. Yellow Bird is a cultural resource interpreter and park ranger at the Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site located southwest of Williston, North Dakota. February 2016
  • Brent Wasem, BS '92, electrical and electronics engineering, was promoted to business lead/materials management at American Crystal Sugar Co., Moorhead, Minnesota. He has worked with the company for 17 years. February 2016
  • Marcus “Todd” Wash, BS '94, physical education, MEd '96, secondary education, was promoted to defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars football team. He replaces former Bison head coach Bob Babich. February 2016
