  • Lindsay (Lemley) Vettleson, BS '03, food and nutrition, earned certification as a diabetes educator from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators. She is a licensed and registered dietitian at Internal Medicine Associates Healthcare, Fargo. January 2016
  • Julie Semlak, PhD '09, communication, was among the recipients of the 2015 Distinguished Article Award from the National Communication Association’s Basic Course Division. She co-wrote “Reaching Out to Students in the Basic Course: What Research Tell Us about Pedagogy in the Basic Course,” published in the Basic Communication Course Annual. January 2016
  • Shafa Wala, BS '08, mechanical engineering, is the CEO of Tarsier Inc., Shoreview, Minnesota. He recently was awarded a patent for "MoveEye Glass," a device that resembles a pair of 3-D glasses that allows interaction with smart TVs using gestures. It is considered the first device of its kind. December 2015
  • Kari (Bitz) Tews, BS '04, mass communication, was named to Prairie Business Magazine's annual "40 Under 40" list, featuring the top business professionals under the age of 40 in the northern Plains. She is the training and development specialist for Gate City Bank, Fargo. December 2015
  • Naomi Schempp, BS '04, mass communication, was named a site manager for Roers Property Management Residential, Fargo. December 2015
  • Jordan Cook, BS '08, business administration, was promoted to assistant vice president-business/agriculture banker at Choice Financial. December 2015
  • Eric Appelwick, BS '03, business administration, joined MSA Professional Services in Duluth, Minnesota, as an environmental scientist. December 2015
  • Sarah Prigge, BMUS '07, MM '09, DMA '12, music, was named Challey School of Music graduate student administrator and class piano coordinator in the NDSU Division of Performing Arts. December 2015
  • Tyler Tracy, BS '05, recreation management, MS '13, health, nutrition and exercise science, was hired as activities director at Park Christian School in Moorhead. December 2015
  • Dustin Dale, BS '08, civil engineering, was honored as the Young Professional of the Year by the North Dakota Water Young Professionals Committee. He is a project manager in the Moorhead office of Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services Inc., known as AE2S. He is a licensed professional engineer in North Dakota, Minnesota and Ohio, and a land surveyor-in-training in North Dakota.   December 2015
