  • Heather Collins, BS ’01 respiratory care, was promoted to manager of account executives at Discovery Benefits, Fargo.
  • Shonda Mertz, MEd ’05 educational administration, was named principal at Sunrise Elementary School in Bismarck, North Dakota.
  • Bryan Neville, MS ’07, PhD ’10 animal science, joined NDSU’s Carrington Research Extension Center as an animal scientist.
  • Angela Mathers, BA ’07 mass communication, MS ’10, sociology, joined the community board of trustees for the Jeremiah Program. She is the dean of academic quality and support at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
  • Robert H. Lee, BS ’03 construction management, was promoted to executive vice president at Wanzek Construction, a general construction contractor and industrial service provider. He has been with the company for 13 years and had previously been the vice president of construction.
  • Kari (Bitz) Tews, BS '04 mass communication, received the inaugural Alumni of the Year award by the North Dakota Phi Beta Lambda chapter. The honor recognizes outstanding leaders who are alumni of Phi Beta Lambda. Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc. is the largest career student business organization in the world, and helps more than 30,000 members prepare for careers in business each year. She lives in West Fargo.
  • Cassie (Peterson) Bladow, BS ’09 management communication, was appointed chief of staff for U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, Republican from North Dakota.
  • Kyle Haugland, BS ’06 business administration, was named vice president and business banking loan officer for BlackRidgeBANK’s Fargo region. He lives in West Fargo.
  • Stephanie Wohlenhaus, BS ’08 apparel and textiles, was promoted to site manager at GOLDMARK’s Southgate office in Fargo. She joined GOLDMARK in 2017 and has 10 years experience in retail management.
  • Beth Slette, MEd ’03 educational administration, was named superintendent of West Fargo Public Schools. She has worked for 25 years in the district as a teacher, transition coordinator, middle school assistant principal, elementary principal and director of assessments and federal programs. She most recently was assistant superintendent of elementary education.
