  • Kari L. Thompson, MS ’18 health, nutrition and exercise science, was named assistant volleyball coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
  • McKenna Tysdal, BS ’12 business administration, joined NDSU’s Office of Research and Creative Activity as its new business development and licensing administrator.
  • Daniel E. Gunderson, BS ’11 journalism, broadcasting, mass communications technology; public relations, joined Dawson Insurance as an employee health and benefits adviser.
  • Amy Peterson, BS ’12 human development and family sciences, MEd ’16 educational leadership, is the new assistant principal for Freedom Elementary School in West Fargo. She started with the school district in 2013 as an elementary teacher.
  • Seth Lachowitzer, MEd ’18 education, is the new assistant principal for Sheyenne High School in West Fargo.
  • James Jaeger, MArch ’19 architecture, joined Design Resources Group and Christianson Companies as an architectural intern.
  • Jackson Gleason, BS ’18 mechanical engineering, joined Hagie Manufacturing in Clarion, Iowa, as an electrical test engineer. He previously worked at John Deere in Des Moines, Iowa.
  • Whitney Bruins, BS ’11 zoology, was inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame. She was a five-time NCAA Division I All-American for the Bison, a two-time Capital One Academic All-American First Team Selection, a five-time U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I Academic All-American and earned the NCAA Elite 88 Award in 2011.
  • Jesse Amo, BS ’10 zoology, opened Soul Shine Cyclery: Bikes. Coffee. Adventure. In Hackensack, Minnesota. The shop offers sales and repair of bikes, outfitting, route recommendations and shuttling cyclists.
  • Shannon Schutt, BS ’14 public relations and advertising, joined Clearwater Communications as vice president of operation. She joined Clearwater in 2017 and is the executive director of the North Dakota Recreation and Park Association and provides membership management, event planning and communications support for the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations.
