Class Notes


  • Ruby (Torno) Krause, 88, MS ’87 educational administration, was a teacher in Drake, North Dakota, and a teacher and elementary principal at Dunseith, North Dakota. She lived in Dunseith.
  • Orville Hillesland, 91, BS ’52 entomology, was active in the Elks, Shriners, Oilers, Boy Scouts and Lutheran Church of the Cross. He lived in Bismarck, North Dakota.
  • Kathleen (Marquart) Gerasch, 84, BS ’57 pharmacy, worked as a pharmacist for many years in the Twin Cities. She lived in Elk River, Minnesota.
  • Margret (Cose) Zirbel, 67, AD ’74 animal science, helped start NDSU’s vet-tech program and worked at Central Dakota Veterinary Clinic and Flickertail Veterinary. She later ran a dog-grooming business. She lived in Chaseley, North Dakota.
  • Robert Zorich, 93, BS ’52, MS ’55 educational administration, was a teacher, coach and principal, primarily in Pipestone, Minnesota. He also was a seasonal park ranger at the Pipestone National Monument and a football and basketball referee. He was a U.S. Army veteran who lived in Okeechobee, Florida.
  • Leonard Dalzell, 90, BS ’53 animal husbandry, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1981, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He received the Bronze Star during the Vietnam War, and also received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. He lived in Williamsburg, Virginia.
  • Brooke LeMar, BS ’14 sport management, was named an assistant basketball coach for the University of Mary, Bismarck, North Dakota. She previously played professional basketball in Denmark, Germany, Australia and Sweden and was the director of player development at California Baptist University.
  • Dr. John Baird, BS ’74 electrical engineering, stepped away from his position as Cass County coroner, a job he held for 37 years. He is a member of a local family physicians group in West Fargo.
  • Logan Dahlgren, BS ’15 accounting, joined Enclave, Fargo, as a senior accountant. He previously was an accounting specialist at East Shore Garment Co., Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
  • Kevin Pederson, BS ’04 civil engineering, joined Moore Engineering Inc., West Fargo, as a senior professional engineer in the Water Resources Group. He previously worked for KLJ Engineering.
