  • David B. Anderson, BS ’80 computer science, retired as the leader of the North Dakota National Guard’s Army Component Command. He retired as a brigadier general, commanding more than 3,350 soldiers. He held several leadership positions during his more than 30-year career with the National Guard.
  • Jacquelyn Steckler, BS ’86 athletic training, corporate and community fitness, was honored as the 2013 Mid-Level Provider of the Year by the Fargo VA Health Care System. She is a physician assistant.
  • Robert Moberg, BS ’87 civil engineering, joined Advance Engineering and Environments Services Inc., known as AE2S, as a program manager. He will assist the city of Williston, N.D., with meeting the increased demands on the community’s infrastructure caused by rapid growth. He has more than 25 years engineering experience in both the public and private sectors.
  • Emily Wehlander, BS ’12 marketing, was appointed interim executive director of Bonanzaville in West Fargo. Bonanzaville is operated by the Cass County Historical Society, with the mission to collect and display artifacts dealing with the cultural history of the Red River Valley.
  • Robert Deraas, BS ’82 agricultural economics, was named to the National Sunflower Association board. A veteran food and agribusiness leader, he is president of CHS Sunflower.
  • Nathan Boehm, BS ’89 animal and range sciences, was appointed livestock field investigator in the Animal Health Division of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. He operated a dairy farm near Mandan, N.D., for 31 years and is a former member and president of the State Board of Animal Health.
  • Thomas Peters, PhD ’91 crop and weed sciences, joined the NDSU Department of Plant Sciences as an Extension Service sugar beet agronomist with an emphasis on weed control. He retired from Monsanto after nearly 24 years with the company, where he specialized in corn trait development.
