CMS upgrade April 2020
March 5, 2020 - As shared at the user group meeting a few weeks ago, we are planning an upgrade of our CMS environment this semester. We had shared at the meeting that we planned to do it during spring break; however, we are pushing that back to the holiday weekend of April 10-12. More details on exact timing will be communicated in the coming weeks, but we ask for you to plan to not make changes to your websites after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 through the weekend.
The biggest impact of this upgrade is that email forms will no longer work in CMS. If you have any forms you’ve built for your site in CMS, you will need to rebuild them. We recommend using Qualtrics, as we have a content element in CMS that will allow you to embed your form into your page if you’d like.
The Group Decision Center will be providing training for creating basic forms in Qualtrics on March 18 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. This workshop has a limit of 20 people so register today to save your spot. If the training does not work with your schedule, you may also reach out to Linda Charlton-Gunderson at firstname.lastname@example.org and she can assist you in creating forms in Qualtrics.
We are working to schedule another user group working session for the week of April 13, for authors who want to have IT staff on hand as they see the changes to the backend of CMS. Look for more details on this soon!
