Assistant Professor - Software Engineering

The Department of Computer Science of North Dakota State University (NDSU) seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with research expertise in software engineering. The faculty member is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, be involved in course and/or curriculum development, support and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, develop a strong research program funded by external sources, and provide service to the department, college, and university, as well as to the profession, along with other activities typical for a tenure-track faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • Experience or other evidence of potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching
  • Experience or other evidence of potential for excellence in research
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software engineering research
  • Professional software development experience
  • Experience with framework- and/or cloud-based software development environments
  • Experience teaching a variety of software engineering topics
  • Evidence of potential for guiding graduate students
  • Evidence of potential for mentoring undergraduate students
