Mr. Rich Lodewyk

Lecturer / BIN Advisor / SUTV Advisor
Broadcast Program Director

M.A., North Dakota State University, 2007
B.A., Calvin College, 1988

Teaching overview:
As the Department Broadcast Program Director I teach a number of broadcasting courses including, Principles of Broadcast Production, Advanced Broadcast Production, and Sports Broadcasting. My teaching philosophy hinges on getting students out of their comfort zone and engaging students. I encourage my students to see the classroom as both in a building and outside of a building. Although extremely competitive and challenging, today's broadcasting industry is incredibly exciting. One of my goals in teaching is to challenge students consistently and facilitate healthy and productive critique sessions. Students have a greater chance of success if they are willing and understand the importance of constructive criticism and self-evaluation. Our goal as a Broadcast Program is to prepare students for not only quality internships, but full time jobs in the broadcasting industry.
