Crisis Intervention

If you are a student in crisis, please call the NDSU Counseling Center at 701.231.7671 and we will have someone speak with you as soon as possible for a crisis appointment via telephone or video. If help is needed outside of normal business hours (8am-5pm, M-F) you can access our after-hours service by contacting 701.231.7671 and FirstLink (the FM area 24-hour hotline), will answer and help you navigate your situation. If you need immediate emergency assistance please contact 911.

You may also call the F-M community's 24-hour FirstLink hotline directly. They are a free, confidential, 24/7 phone line, people can simply dial 211 or 701-235-7335, or text your zip code to 898-211 for listening and support.

Other crisis/emergency options include:


  • Calling the Campus Police at 701-231-8998

  • Calling 911

  • Going to the Sanford Hospital Emergency Room at 5225 23rd Avenue S, (701) 417-2100

  • Going to Prairie St. Johns Needs Assessment, 510 4th St. S., (701) 476-7216

  • Calling the FirstLink ND State Help Line at 1-800-273- TALK (8255). 
  • Calling Rape and Abuse Crisis Center at 701-293-7273
