Wizarding Academy - Summer Camp

ATTENTION all Harry Potter fans completing grades 4-9, it’s time for you to get your Hogwarts letter! Revisit J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series in a fun, interactive, hands-on adventure at the first ever NDSU Wizarding Academy - Harry Potter Roundabout Theatre - Summer Camp!  

Come to reenact The Rescue of Sirius Black and Buckbeak in a dizzying acting extravaganza! Student teams will use cooperation and creativity to put on this multi-location performance. Wits and wands required!

In addition, this summer camp with include all the usual shenanigans--Harry Potter trivia, writing, art contests, and daily Quidditch!

This summer day camp Wizarding Academy is presented by North Dakota State University's English Department. This event is not sponsored by nor endorsed by J.K. Rowling, Scholastic or Warner Brothers.

 

 


History:

The Wizarding Academy originated in 2008 at the University of Wisconsin Marathon County as "Muggle Academy." Since then, 11 years of camps have been held. This is the first summer the academy is offered at NDSU.  

 

 


Participants:

The Wizarding Academy is open to students completing grades 4-9 from all regional public or private schools. This is a great learning and socializing activity for students this summer. 

Once your child is officially registered for the Wizarding Academy summer camp, please ensure that you read our Parent/Guardian Information section as it contains important information. This information will also be emailed to you prior to the camp.

 

 


Schedule:

A more detailed schedule will be posted in the near future.

9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Monday through Thursday

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Friday

 

 


Parent/Guardian Information:

The following is information that you, as a parent or guardian, need to know about your child's participation in the Wizarding Academy. Please read through this information carefully as it may impact your child's participation.

 

1. No dress shoes or sandals

All children need to wear tennis shoes that are appropriate for a gymnasium floor. It is also a good idea to ensure your child is wearing socks as they may walk around campus. 

2. Participant Waivers are Required for Participation

Every child who is participating in the Wizarding Academy must have a waiver signed before they are allowed to participate in any activities. There is a link to the waiver form below, you will receive a copy via email prior to the week of your child's camp, and there will be a few on-hand at the check-in table. A parent or guardian's signature is required on the form.

3. Parking for Drop-off and Pick-up

4. Drop-off and Pick-up

Please ensure that you drop off your child during the stated arrival time and pick up your child during the stated end time for their camp. Staff may not be available earlier or later than the stated times and the buildings are unlocked/locked promptly. 

5. Late Arrivals

If you know that your child will be late to arrive for the Wizarding Academy, please contact the .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).  They will have a Wizarding Academy staff member meet your child in the parking lot and will walk them to their class. Please note, classes will start on time so your child may miss out on some of the camp if they are late to arrive.
