NDSU Distance and Continuing Education (DCE) recently hired Elango Murugaiyan as Computer Programmer, Mark Taggart as Multimedia Specialist, and promoted Connie Jadrny to Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator.  “These individuals bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience and as such will be a great addition to the DCE staff” said Lisa Nordick, Director of Distance and Continuing Education.

Elango Murugaiyan, Computer Programmer, will assist DCE in managing technology needs of the office including: maintaining computer systems, software design and development, web software and database applications, website development and maintenance, and course development support. Murugaiyan is currently an NDSU Graduate Student and previously worked for NDSU Publication Services.

Mark Taggart, Multimedia Specialist, will work with instructors to utilize the latest technology to enhance both online and face to face courses offered through DCE.  He has ten plus years experience designing and editing web pages as well as knowledge of effective multimedia and web design practices for instructional related materials. Prior to NDSU Taggart was a Multimedia Specialist with Left Brain Media for the past eight years.

Connie Jadrny was promoted to the position of Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator. In this position she will work to increase visibility of products and services offered through DCE by creating a variety of promotional materials as well as maintaining and establishing business relationships. Jadrny previously served as the Receptionist/Non-Credit Assistant for DCE for the past two years. Prior to NDSU she worked at the West Fargo Area Chamber of Commerce where she promoted local businesses, planned events, and created marketing pieces.
