Ignite a passion or fuel your child's passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) classes by registering him/her for these hands-on learning camps. Students in grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 are invited to join NDSU for a variety of summer kids camps focused on topics in STEM. Camps are offered two different weeks during July and August.

Note: Since the camps are offered in the summer, the school grade of your child is typically based on the grade your child will enter in Fall 2018.  These classes fill quickly so register early.

Once your child is officially registered for a camp, please ensure that you read our Parent/Guardian Information section as it contains important information.  This information will also be emailed to you prior to the beginning of the week your child is registered for.

NDSU STEM Kids camps are co-sponsored by:

Parent/Guardian Information:

The following is information that you, as a parent or guardian, need to know about your child's participation in the STEM Kids Camps. Please read through this information carefully as it may impact your child's participation.

1. No sandals

All children need to wear tennis shoes or other shoes that cover their entire foot. It is also a good idea to ensure your child is wearing socks as they may need to walk across campus to get to their classroom. These camps are hands-on camps that have students working with a variety of materials. To avoid slipping, tripping, or other hazards it is important that your child's feet are protected with a good tennis shoe. In addition, in the summer there is generally a significant amount of construction happening around campus. Every precaution is taken to ensure your child does not have to walk through a construction site but that may mean they need to take a longer route to get to their classroom.

2. Participant Waivers are Required for Participation

Every child who is participating in a STEM Kids Camp must have a waiver signed before they are allowed to participate in any activities. There is a link to the waiver form below, you will receive a copy via email prior to the week of your child's camp, and there will be a few on-hand at the check-in table. A parent or guardian's signature is required on the form.

3. Nametags Must be Worn Each Day of the Camp

Nametags will be given to your child at the first day of check-in for their camp. The instructor for each camp will collect your child's nametag at the end of each day. If your child accidentally brings their nametag home, please ensure they are dropped off at camp with their nametag on them.

4. Parking for Drop-off and Pick-up

The NDSU visitors parking lot (E on the NDSU map) is the only lot that parents/guardians are able to park in when picking up and dropping off their children. Parking tickets cannot be waived for parents/guardians who choose to park in another lot on campus. Your child will be greeted by a STEM Kids Camp staff member in the visitors parking lot. There will be a parent/guardian meeting on the first day of each camp your child attends. Plan to attend that meeting. The meeting will be held in the CME building auditorium, which is accessible from the visitors parking lot. Staff will be on hand to direct you to the parent meeting location.

5. Drop-off and Pick-up

Please ensure that you drop-off your child no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the stated arrival time and pick-up your child within 10 minutes of the stated end time for their camp. Our STEM Kids Camp staff is busy setting up and cleaning up after each day and will not be in the parking lot before or after the 10 minute drop-off and pick-up window of time.

6. Late Arrivals

If you know that your child will be late to arrive for any day of the STEM Kids Camp, please contact the STEM Kids Camp Coordination team.  They will have a STEM Kids Camp staff member meet your child in the parking lot and will walk them to their class. Please note, classes will start on time each day so your child may miss out on some of the camp if they are late to arrive.

7. Classes with Computers (ex. Creative Computer Coding for K-2 students)

Headphones are not provided. Headphones are optional but are recommended. Please ensure that your child has a basic set of headphones for their computer.
