Course Description:

Unlike other workshops that focus on reacting to a violent event, these workshops will give you the tools to reduce your risk of violence through proper planning and prevention techniques.

Don Moseman, will review case studies and lessons learned from past events, including known traits, origins, and societal influences on the shooters. Administrators will be given the tools to identify potential problems early – before an incident – and steps to take for intervention. Don will also discuss FERPA, best practices for forming a school Threat Assessment Team, and preparedness suggestions. Attendees will study an emergency response plan created using FEMA guidelines, and cover suggested best practices from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Discussions will include how to identify key resources in developing your own emergency response plan, how to partner with law enforcement, and much more.
