The Dean of Students Office is charged with maintaining, promoting, and upholding the Code of Student Conduct.  The Code outlines NDSU’s behavioral expectations of students and student organizations, prohibited conduct, the process for handling potential violations, and the possible outcomes of the conduct process.

The primary goal of the conduct process is to educate.  We want students to reflect on the impact of their actions on themselves and the community, repair harm caused by their choices, and understand alternative choices for the future.

The process is rooted in balancing the interests of the individual with the interests of the community.  There are times when a student’s actions are so severe or consistently disruptive that the institution chooses to remove a student from the community for a period of time.
