Start Working Early

If you begin working during our early incentive period, you get an additional $2/hour from the time you start through September 7. New student team members can begin working as early as August 18! 

Move In Early

Dining team members who move-in early get a ton of benefits, including:

  1. An additional $2/hour your first shift through September 7           
  2. Instant connection with 300 other student team members
  3. Fun activities to attend all week
  4. The ability to move into your Residence Hall and get acclimated before the rush of other students arrive

The first 50 students who sign up to move into their residence hall early will receive a special welcome gift from NDSU Dining!

Students can begin working for dining and earning this benefit as early as August 10 for student managers, August 17 for student supervisors and returning students, and August 18 for new students.

Please note: The most common reason for delay in the hiring process is not having the required personal documents upon arrival to campus. Please view the second page of our Employment Overview to view official documents (not photocopies) that are required prior to hire! If you don't bring your required documents you won't be able to start work!

Incentive Criteria
New Dining Student Team Members:
  • Complete all new hire paperwork before attending first work shift
  • Participate in and complete all required training and departmental events
  • Work all required shifts or find an appropriate substitute for your shift, approved by a Student Manager
  • Receive no written warnings or be in any form of progressive discipline
Returning Dining Student Employees:
  • Return on the required date, where applicable, and/or have received approval through an exemption request
  • Participate in and complete all required training and departmental events
  • Work all required shifts or find an appropriate substitute for your shift, approved by a Student Manager
  • Receive no written warnings or be in any form of progressive discipline
NDSU Payroll:

Pay will be calculated on the number of hours worked, along with meeting the above criteria and submitted to NDSU Payroll. NDSU Payroll will post this to your paycheck, with all applicable deductions.
