1. ECS Graduate Student Grant Competition

Graduate students in the Environmental & Conservation Sciences Graduate program are invited to submit a proposal to support their graduate studies.  Proposals should be one page in length providing an overview of the proposed activities.  Each proposal should include:  1) A brief overview of your status within your degree program, 2) Budget, and 3) Budget justification indicating how funds will contribute toward your graduate success.  A short letter of support from the Advisor is also required which should indicate the status of the student and how the proposed activities will support the student’s degree program.  Funds can be used for items such as 1) Graduate student summer stipend, 2) Field/Laboratory costs (including travel), 3) Travel to a short course.  Funds may not be used for travel to a national/regional meeting.  Grants will vary from $1000 to $3000, and all funds must be expended by June 30, 2009.  Proposals will be reviewed by a committee of ECS Faculty (excluding faculty advisors of all students competing for funds).  Submit one hard copy and an electronic (pdf) version of the proposal by 5 pm, February 13, 2009 to RuthAnn Faulkner (FLC 316), email:
