II have been teaching in the English Department at NDSU since 2007. I teach Creative Writing I and II, Writing in the Humanities and Social Sciences, and First Year English. I like to explore technology and popular culture in my classes, and sometimes food.

I received my MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University. As a creative writer and instructor I specialize in fiction, playwriting and screenwriting. I also love to read and teach poetry. For several years I wrote and performed in an episodic theater show in Minneapolis called The Electric Arc Radio Show about four dysfunctional writers living together in Minneapolis. Think Seinfeld/Arrested Development crossed with A Prairie Home Companion and My Fair Lady. The shows were primarily performed for theater audiences but several also were broadcast on the Minnesota Public Radio station the Current 89.3.

Currently, I am working on a story about a 15-year-old tailor.
