NDSU Writing Programs

The Writing Program aims to cultivate and support strong student writing at NDSU. We accomplish this by sponsoring student-centered activities such as the Showcase of Student Writing and the W-Challenge writing competition, while also promoting strong teaching and learning through regular professional development for our faculty and curriculum review.

All undergraduate students participate in NDSU’s Writing Program by taking the required general education writing classes in their first year (English 110/112 and 120/122) and again after they have earned 60 credits (300- or 400-level discipline-specific writing courses).

In 2017, the NDSU Writing Program received the Award for Excellence in Program Assessment from the Office of Teaching and Learning.
