Bellissima Italia Interest Meeting (Special Events)
The Bellissima Italia: A Bicycling Tour of the Tuscan Region course emphasizes the need for cultural fluency in everyday life. Throughout the course, we will examine the meaning of culture and why cultural fluency is critical in every aspect of our lives as well as the challenges of cross-cultural communication. You will experience Tuscany by bicycling through its vineyards and shoreline. You will have the opportunity to explore medieval fortresses and swim in the Mediterranean Sea. You will bike to Talamone which stands on a small promontory overlooking the Mediterranean and is dominated by an ancient Sienese castle. This little town of fishermen originally stood on the Talamonaccio hill and served as an ancient Etruscan port. Currently, Talamone is set inside a World Wildlife Fund nature reserve known as Parco Regionale Della Maremma (Maremma Park), which features an incredible variety of protected flora and fauna.
