Pop-up Workshop: Student Centered Learning: What a POGIL classroom can do for your students. (Conference/Workshop/Seminar)
Laura Lavine, Ph.D., a trained Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) facilitator will teach faculty about the POGIL active learning technique. Lavine will introduce participants to Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning and will explore the benefits of this approach to active learning in the classroom. Participants will experience a POGIL-based learning environment, understand how guided inquiry is structured in a POGIL classroom, and consider classroom facilitation and other issues related to the implementation of POGIL. Evidence on the impacts on student withdrawal/fail/D rates and retention of content will be discussed. More information...
