Brief Biography

Eric Asa is an Associate Professor in Construction Management and Engineering at North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND. He holds a doctoral degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta. Dr. Asa has several years of corporate and government experience. Prior to coming to NDSU, Eric worked as Assistant Professor in University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho; where he taught such courses as Engineering Economics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials, and others. Since his arrival at NDSU, Eric has developed and/or taught several courses to undergraduate and graduate students. His research interests are the application of computational methods (stochastic, spatial statistics and GIS) in construction/engineering; sustainable advanced materials and engineering education. He is the Director of the Computational and Sustainable Infrastructure (CSI) Laboratory. The laboratory is aimed at discovering and employing innovative, cutting-edge computational and laboratory methodologies, algorithms and technologies to advance research and education in the science, engineering and construction of sustainable infrastructure.
