Additions and Corrections
Below is a list of additions and/or corrections that have been discovered since the publication of the Catalog of Cimex names. Please contact me if you discover more corrections, and I will add them to this list. This publication is still available through the Entomological Society of America. Full citation:

1841).

aggressor Fabricius, 1775 - should be Avicenna aggressor (Fabricius,
1775).

albomarginatus Schrank, 1776 - should be Canthophorus dubius (Scopoli,
1763)
Page 12:
aurantiacus Burmeister, 1835 - should be Catacanthus incarnatus
(Drury, 1773).
aurantius Sulzer, 1776 - should be Catacanthus incarnatus (Drury,
1773).
Page 15:
biguttatus Schrank, 1801 - this was originally proposed as a new name for
Cimex bipunctatus Fabricius, 1779.
Page 19:
carunculatus Gmelin, 1790 - should be Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale
(Linnaeus, 1758).
catena Drury, 1782 - should be Oplomus (Catostyrax) catena (Drury,
1782).
Page 20:
chalybeus Gmelin, 1790 - should be Zicrona caerulea (Linnaeus,
1758), Pentatomidae.
Page 30:
druraei Linnaeus, 1771 - should be Poecilocoris druraei (Linnaeus,
1771).
dubius Scopoli, 1763 - should be Canthophorus dubius (Scopoli,
1763)
Page 35:
flavicinctus Herrich-Schäffer, 1839 - should be Ochlerus cinctus
Spinola, 1837.
Page 38:
fulvus Gmelin, 1790 - should be Tessaratoma papillosa (Drury,
1773), Tessaratomidae (see p. 130).
fuscoannulatus (Stål, 1858) - should be Picromerus bidens
(Linnaeus, 1758).
Page 39:
galii Wolff, 1802 - should be Vilpianus galii (Wolff, 1802).
Page 40:
globus Fabricius, 1794 - should be Coptosoma scutellatum (Geoffroy,
1785).
Pages 40-41:
glutinosae Schrank, 1785 - Palearctic catalog treated this as a nomen
oblitum, and a synonym of Rhopalus subrufus (Gmelin, 1790),
Rhopalidae

impressus Coquebert de Montbret, 1801 - should be Canopus impressus
(Coquebert, 1801).
Page 49:
iserti Fabricius, 1794 - should be Chalcocoris rutilans (Fabricius,
1781).

for Cimex fuscofasciatus Goeze, 1778.

regius Drury, 1782 - should be Oplomus (Catostyrax) catena (Drury,
1782).
Page 77:
rostratus Drury, 1782 - should be Platynopiellus septemdecimmaculatus
(Palisot de Beauvois, 1811).
Page 79:
rutilus Fabricius, 1775 - should be Agonoscelis rutila (Fabricius,
1775).
Page 90:
tanaceti Schrank, 1801 - this was actually proposed as a new name for
viridiflavus Goeze, 1778.
tarsatus Klug, 1845 - should be Brachynema cinctum (Fabricius,
1775).
Page 93:
triangularis Goeze, 1778 - need to add family name, Miridae.
tricolor Gmelin, 1790 - should be Chlorochroa juniperina
(Linnaeus, 1758), Pentatomidae. (see p. 130).
Page 94:
tristriatus Fabricius, 1787 - should be Cyphostethus tristriatus (Fabricius,
1787).
Page 96:
unicolor Turton, 1802 - should be Chlorochroa juniperina
(Linnaeus, 1758), Pentatomidae (see p. 130).
Page 98:
varius Gmelin, 1790 - should be Coridius janus (Fabricius, 1775),
Dinidoridae (see p. 130).
Page 101:
vittatus Fabricius, 1781 - should be Oncacontias vittatus (Fabricius,
1781).
Page 103:
Add: Canopidae: impressus.
Page 125:
Next to last sentence under DeGeer, 1778, should read: "... and Cimex testudo
nigra DeGeer, 1778, is senior synonym to Brachyplatys pallipes (Fabricius,
1781) (Plataspidae)."
Page 130:
The last line of no. 98 - pallidus should be pallescens.
