Type Species: Aednus obscurus Dallas, 1851, by monotypy.

Tribal Placement: StDl (1876) included Aednus in his "Myrochea et genera quaedam affinia" group.

ellipticus Breddin
niger Bergroth
notatus Haglund
obscurus Dallas
rugosus Haglund
ventralis Dallas
 

Comments: Ahmad & Afzal (1989) treated the two species that occur in India (obscurus and ventralis); otherwise there has been no recent treatment of the genus.
