I am an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Biological Science (ICB), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande - FURG (Rio Grande, RS, Brasil), and a collaborator of the "Laboratório de Entomologia Sistemática" - LES (UFRGS, Porto Alegre, RS).  Currently, I am coordinator of the "Laboratory of Entomology, Systematics and Biogeography - LESB (FURG), and curator of the Entomology collection.  I am interested in phylogenetic systematics, biogeography, and morphology of Pentatomidae, having collaborated with phylogenetic studies in other taxonomic groups (Auchenorrhyncha: Cercopidae and Cicadellidae; Orthoptera: Acrididae; Crustacea: Oniscidea and Parastacidae).  My studies in biogeography are focused on the definition of endemic areas for the group in the Neotropics, as well as the use of historical methods.
