Philippe Magnien
Paris, France

Retired naval engineer, I have been an amateur entomologist since 1973. Under the leadership of Jean Péricart, I chose to work on French Heteroptera. About fifteen years ago, I began to study the family Cydnidae more closely, and in recent years, I undertook the study of the Tessaratomidae. My goal is an overall review of the entire family, which I foresee to be at least a ten year task. I also plan to build an illustrated catalog of the family on the web.

I am currently completing a review of the genus Pygoplatys, and I am starting the same for Agapophyta. I am also touring many museums, not only for the two abovementioned taxa, but also to identify all the types of Tessaratomidae, in order to establish a completely stabilized taxonomy.
