Currently Available Funding Opportunities
Other General Funding Opportunities
Fellowships and awards for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are available from many external entities as well as several internal sources. Aside from providing financial support, these awards are recognition of scholarly excellence.
The Graduate School is responsible for the review and approval of applications to external agencies when graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are listed as the principal applicant. In addition, the Graduate School serves as the institutional official for applications when the primary benefactor is the graduate student/postdoc (for example: NSF DDRIG, NSF DDIG).
In additional to the funding opportunities listed above, there are also several other ways for international students to fund their graduate education at NDSU. Among these include the following:
- Support from your home institution. NDSU has arrangements with many international institutions for student exchange. Check with your home institution.
- Support from your government. Many countries support students to conduct their graduate studies and provide a living and education allowance (to support tuition). Check with your national government.
- US-International collaborative fellowships. The US and countries around the world collaborate to support graduate study in the US through these programs:
Support for graduate education also can be provided through NDSU academic departments on a competitive basis, which is part of the graduate application process (no need to contact departments) .
