NDSU College of Health Professions to hold Alumni Day

August 19, 2016 – Fargo, North Dakota – The College of Health Professions at North Dakota State University has scheduled an Alumni Day event for NDSU graduates in pharmacy, nursing, allied sciences and public health on Saturday, August 27. Registration is available at http://bit.ly/1suhxD7

The event schedule includes:

Open House, Sudro Hall, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., 1401 Albrecht Blvd, Fargo

Bison Football Tailgating and Watch Party, 4 p.m., Fargo Air Museum, 1609 19th Avenue North

The event recognizes the leadership of graduates in health professions and provides updates on activities in the School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, Department of Allied Sciences and Department of Public Health.

The College history dates to 1901 with the establishment of the School of Pharmacy. Nursing programs were included in the 1960s. By 2006, Allied Sciences joined the College and in 2011, the Department of Public Health was initiated. In 2015, the name of the College was changed to the College of Health Professions to recognize the full scope of its academic mission. 

Competitive research grants awarded to the College of Health Professions have grown from $500,000 to nearly $20 million over the past decade, including research on colon and pancreatic cancers, drug delivery systems, tobacco, Alzheimer’s disease and other health topics.  

With more than 2,000 enrolled students, future pharmacists, nurses, allied sciences and public health professionals build their skills through College of Health Professions programs and associations with alumni and partners.
