NDSU College of Health Professions announces 2021 Dean's Award for Excellence recipients

The NDSU College of Health Professions today announced recipients of the Dean's Awards of Excellence for 2021.

“This past year during a pandemic provided challenges to everyone. The fact that these award recipients continued to exhibit professional excellence with their significant contributions to the College, further exhibits their commitment to students,” said Charles D. Peterson, dean of the College of Health Professions at NDSU.

The contributions of award recipients focus on:

  • innovative teaching methods
  • a Grateful Garden to promote community food security
  • programs that help patients with limited resources
  • bringing together students of different cultures, healthcare disciplines, and backgrounds to develop skills that will be used to help their future patients
  • research that focuses on women’s health, disparities in health care, and culturally appropriate care

Dean's Award for Exemplary Service
Dr. Mary Larson – Associate Professor, NDSU Department of Public Health

Dean's Award for Excellence in Advising
Dana Davis – Director of Student Professional Development, NDSU College of Health Professions

Mary J. Berg Distinguished Professor of Women’s Health
Dr. Pamela Jo Johnson – Chair, NDSU Department of Public Health

“With their commitment to students and their exceptional expertise, these Dean’s Award recipients have made a significant impact upon students’ education, and upon their respective health professions at state and national levels,” said Peterson.
