What are the project goals?

Sudro Hall was built in 1960.

While the building received minor renovations and two modest expansions in 1969 and 2002, Sudro Hall cannot support all of the College’s growing programs. It was built in an era when health care education was delivered very differently than today.

The College is currently leasing space in three off-campus buildings to make room for its nursing and public health programs, as well as the Health Sciences Library. Having faculty, staff and students spread over four locations presents a logistical barrier to collaborative learning and research.

The Sudro Hall expansion project will:

  • Support growing student enrollment
  • Nurture collaborative learning and research
  • Bring together all of the College’s growing health care programs: the School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, Department of Allied Sciences and Department of Public Health in one location
  • Enhance learning with state-of-the-art technology

The NDSU College of Health Professions and its predecessors have served North Dakota since 1902.

The College includes the School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, Department of Allied Sciences, the Department of Public Health, Family HealthCare Pharmacy and North Dakota Telepharmacy.

Construction of the approximately 74,000 square-foot, six-story addition to Sudro Hall at an estimated cost not to exceed $28 million will provide:

  • Teaching and research space
  • Clinical labs
  • Student study areas
  • Health Sciences Library
  • Enhanced research labs
  • Offices

We are dedicated to provide students an interdisciplinary team-based education to be practice-ready to serve patients in communities throughout the region and beyond.
